Tetrad teaser
Our new instrument Tetrad will be arriving in June ! Based on Gadi Sassoon’s work with driven plates, this instrument is a hybrid of physical modelling and granular synthesis.
This started out as a project working with metal plates driven by transducers, with slashed cuts to vary the resonance of each plate. Gadi created performance pieces using 4 plates fed with violin and tracks from Ableton Live, including elements of Modus.
Tetrad is a digital realisation of that project, using 4 signal paths to force vibrations of physical models of the individual plates. The signal path originates with oscillators or sidechain audio, and includes amplitude modulation and granular synthesis.

Gadi’s new album ‘Modes of Vibration‘ based on this work is available now.
